Playground time!

I ran Jimmy over to the playground today to get him out to run before it rains tomorrow! Allan's mom happened to be driving by and stopped to play.  He had a great time running around, and took a long nap afterwards!

The other night Allan had his camera out and Jimmy decided to turn into a supermodel! He kept saying "more cheese, more cheese!" What a ham! He finally let us get some good pictures of him holding Sarah!

Thank you!

I can not thank Allan, my mom, sister, mother-in-law, and sister-in-laws enough for all of their help while I was in the hospital and since I have been home.

My mom and sister were here a total of 11 days helping with everything, little did they know when they scheduled the trip that I would be put back in the hospital. Rebecca helped entertain Jimmy and stayed with me at the hospital. My mom took care of Sarah while I was in the hospital, even sleeping in her room and feeding her all night long. They both made food, washed clothes, and helped Allan in anyway that they could. They worked so hard and I don't know how to thank them enough.

My wonderful in laws have been such a help, making food, doing laundry, and keeping up with Jimmy. Jimmy just needs to run and play, and they come to the rescue,  they are my Nanny 911! If I need a nap or any help I know they are there for me. Thank you so much!!!

Allan,  I do not know how to thank you enough for my beautiful children and the care and love that you give me.  Allan was kind enough to take care of everything around the house, care for Jimmy and Sarah, and continue to work while I was in the hospital. One of the nights he stayed with me, he had a way of making me laugh even when I wanted to bust out crying because I missed my kids.  Since I have been home he has made me breakfast everyday, and gotten up with Jimmy so I can continue sleeping. Thank you for being the best!

Hello everyone! First and for most I want to thank everyone for their prayers when I was back in the hospital.  Last Monday I felt a lump the size of a hard boiled egg on my lower left side, Tuesday morning I called the doctor. Dr. Percy was in surgery so I saw Dr. Smith, by the time I got there Tuesday morning it was the size of a sweet potato and red. He started me on oral antibiotics. That night I started running a fever that would come and go, I knew this was not a good sign. By Wednesday morning I was in the doctor's office with Dr. Smith, Dr. Percy and Dr. Simpson looking at me discussing the best treatment for my infection. Off to the hospital I went for 5 days of IV antibiotics around the clock. I had two ultrasounds preformed hoping that they would see fluid so that they could drain it, but everything was solid. The infection was VERY slowly going down with the antibiotics, my fevers finally broke on Saturday, so they sent me home on Sunday afternoon. Dr. Simpson had been the doctor on call, several times he said " I wish there was fluid so that we could drain it and you would feel much better." Monday morning at 5 AM I was up feeding Sarah and my incision from my c-section started draining!!!! Dr. Percy and Dr. Simpson saw me Monday morning and could not believe that it started draining, they helped to drain it more, and I have been doing everyday since then. I feel so much better, and it looks so much better. There are still lots of hard areas that may or may not go away, but I feel better and that is all that matters. I am still on oral antibiotics for 6 more days.

So as far as everyone's questions go:
The only diagnosis they can give me is a bacterial infection and they are not sure when or how I contracted it. It is strange because it was not at my incision it started a couple of inches above and extended upward.

Sarah has still be able to nurse, the doctors have been very cautious on what they prescribe.

I truly believe that God listened to everyone's prayers for healing for me and helped my infection drain. The fact that it was solid the day before and then opened for healing was truly a blessing.

Back to the Hospital

Hi everyone, this is Allan, Anna's husband. Anna has been readmitted this afternoon to Gulf Coast Hospital. She has an internal infection that won't clear up quickly. The doctors want to nip it in the butt before it gets worse. She'll be there for 2-3 days minimum. We'll post updates on the blog. Please do NOT call Anna, she needs to rest. If you desperately need to speak to her, call me instead (850-215-0254). If you call I will give you my finest "Anna impression".

Anna will be checking her email on her iPhone, please feel free to email her with well wishes.

We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

A walk in the park

Yesterday we to Jimmy to the park and went for a stroll around the walking trail. Jimmy enjoyed running away from Aunt Boo and having her chase him everywhere. Jimmy also decided to push sister in her stroller.

Sarah Lucille Branch

On Thursday we welcomed our little angel Sarah Lucille Branch at 11:22am, 8lbs 4 oz 19.5 inches long. My c-section went very smoothly and I was able to nurse Sarah in the recovery room. She is so beautiful with dark blue/green eyes and a little bit of dark fuzzy hair. Her apgar scores were 8.5 and 9.  The first night was a rough night, she did not want to sleep only eat and poop. The last two nights she has had great nights, sleeping 3 hours eating and going right back to sleep. Nursing is going really well. She loves to cuddle up with anyone and make the sweetest noises. The whole world is aware when she is getting her diaper changed, she does not like it! :)

Jimmy is not quite sure what to think of her. He will point to sister, point out her body parts, but will not give her a kiss or hold her. He thinks its really funny when she is eating. Becca caught Jimmy sitting in the bouncy seat this morning, I guess he remembers that he loved it as a baby. We are making sure to spend lots of quality one on one time with him. I am sure Jimmy will have his ups and downs, but will learn to love her.

We have lots of pictures on our Flickr account, and will continue to post them there.

Gulf World

I let Jimmy play hooky today from school and we met up with April and Bucky at Gulf World. Jimmy would not sit to watch the sea lion show, so I let him run around and look at the other animals.  Jimmy kept posing with the photo props and saying "cheese!" Jimmy loved seeing the sharks, alligators, and his favorite parrots.  Jimmy lasted about halfway though the parrot show, and then had to get up and run again. Bucky is always so well behaved, and Jimmy has to run in circles! It was great spending sometime with April and Bucky.

Were going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

Today was our last Saturday just the three of us, so we decided to go to the zoo. The weather could not have been any better. Jimmy really enjoyed running around seeing all the animals. His favorite of course are the parrots. He would stand there and yell at them and get a kick out of them squawking back at him. He loved the petting zoo and feeding the ponies and giraffe. Tonight Allan and I are going out to dinner and a movie while Jimmy spends the night at Grandma's house! One last time to sleep in!!!

Last Saturday as an only child!
